Search Area For Flight MH370 Could Be Doubled
Thursday, April 16, 2015 by Unknown
The search area for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 will be doubled if the missing plane is not recovered by the end of May. Ministers from Malaysia, Australia and China – the three nations leading the operation – said they were "committed to the search" as they pledged to scour another 60,000sq km of the Indian Ocean if no wreckage is found. It has been 13 months since the Boeing 777 dropped off radar during its journey from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, with 239 people on board. So far, 61% of the current 60,000sq km search area, about 1,000 miles off Australia's west coast, has been explored to no avail.
